Vegetable Saute Jasmine Rice (as to Vegetable Fried Rice)
Ingredients for Making Rice:
1 or 2 cups of rinse clean Jasmine Rice
Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)
1 tsp Yellow Curry/Turmeric
Pinch of Sea Salt
1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Sesame Seed Oil
Rinse rice under cold water, drain. In a medium pot put oil, sea salt, and red pepper flakes in oil, add rice with curry spice, saute for a minute or so, then add water bringing it to a semi-boil. Lower temperature on LOW and place cover on pot, cook for 20 minutes. (Remember, for every one cup of rice, add 1 1/2 cup of water). Remove from heat after 20 minutes and un-cover, add rice to veggie mix below.
Ingredients for Vegetable Saute:
1 Tbsp Olive Oil/Sesame Seed Oil
1/4 – 1/2 Cabbage or Chinese Cabbage
Red Onions/Spring Onions
A Small pc. of Fresh Ginger minced (or more if you like)
1 Large Garlic minced
Optional: Fresh Peas, Diced Carrots, Tofu/Medium to Large Shrimp
2 Tbsp Tamari sauce instead of Soy Sauce
Gomasio for topping (has all the spices you need).
In a large wok or fry pan, add oil, cabbage, onions, ginger, garlic, optional items and saute for 2 – 3 minutes, add rice and mix well adding Tamari Sauce. Toss and mix well until sauce covers entire rice. Place in a large bowl and add Gomasio topping! (Gomasio recipe is also available on my Blog).
This Jasmine Saute Veggie Rice will taste better then any take-out Fried Rice you ever tasted w/o the added heavy Sodium or MSG! All your ingredients are fresh and healthy to have alone or as a side dish.
ENJOY! 😀
